A stroll through the soothing streets of Villa de Leyva reveal a staggering amount of accumulated history in its 445 years of history, since the times of the Conquest and through Colonial times, the Independency and all the way down to the first years of the Colombian Republic and modern times. This heritage town has always had a leading role in the country milestones. That is one reason chroniclers, patriarchs, heroes of the independence and many other public figures have chosen it as their residence and place to leave their footprints, histories and legends.
Relaxing-contemplative-cultural tour; ideal for any age group, including mature travelers. Short walks within the Historical Center and tours through the main streets and manors of importance. Duration: 2-3 hours approximately. Most manors don’t include an admission fee, except Molino de Mesopotamia (2,000 COP per person) and Acuña Museum (5,000 COP per person).
Optional: If the traveler wishes to visit a museum outside of Villa de Leyva, transportation and an additional 2-hour time fee will be required. See additional fees. From two sites on outside Villa de Leyva, the tour will be charged as the Monquira Rural Tour.
